I went to the local Botanical Gardens with mum today, I wanted to snap some photos of the water birds and have a look, I’ve lived here for ages and only recently discovered we have these gardens.
Nice day, sun was shining, plenty of birds about though the wind was a little chilly at times. In the park they have so many signs, you’ve only got to walk a few feet to find the next one asking people not to feed the birds. Some go so far as to explain why, it’s not healthy for them… makes sense to me!
I was appalled when we walked past yet another sign saying “Do not feed the birds” when I noticed two women and some kids getting some bread out to throw to them! *rolls eyes* A little further along there was a woman squatting down at the bank of the lake, complete with bread scraps in the loaf bag, feeding the birds right under the bloody sign!
I wondered at first is it ignorance on their part? Do they not care of the effect things like this can have on our wildlife? What a great example the two women with the kids were setting….”yeah that’s right sweetie, the signs only apply to others, you do what you want!”
I do wonder though, do these people think the rules or guidelines are there for everyone else, these people expect themselves to be exempt, I wanted to slap the cow!
