Firstly, to all the Fun Monday players, apologies for my few weeks away without any notice, my health took a BIG dive (you can catch up below if you’d like), but I’m back in business for now at least. I’ve missed playing but my mind has been so distracted. Secondly…Welcome to 2010 (a little late) but I wish you all a safe and happy new year.
Now, onto this week’s assignment. Jill @ The Adventures of Lil’ Mouse has set a challenge that seems like a bit of a chore j/k.
She asks: What is your least favorite chore? Vacuum get you down? Dust bunnies saying, “oh yeah, you and what army?” Is there a chore that you neglect doing it until the absolute last minute when guests arrive? Do you just pray they won’t look ‘there’? Are you going green with your cleaning? Top tips? If you have any ideas for anyone on Monday, post them in their comment box, because we all know that we LOVE comments!
Where do I start on this one?
I’ve never minded doing chores, especially when I’m in my own place, in fact I’ve been accused of being a little OCD at times (not with everything though).
Since I fell on a flight of stairs and my back has been getting worse, it’s been much harder to do a lot of things and now I need help. Now my health is going through more trials and tribulations and I overheat quickly, have some trouble with breathing, not to mention energy levels, it’s even harder. I hardly do a thing!
But in my own house, there isn’t anything that really bothers me, cleaning the loo, the bathroom, ironing, washing.
Actually, I just remembered something I do NOT like doing….anything in the garden, it’s not about getting dirty or anything. It’s the nasty bugs we get here in Australia, poisonous spiders and occasional snakes…you get my drift! But I haven’t got a green thumb anyway.
Here I have three other people who can help with the chores though….but that’s usually through a fair bit of nagging!
Click on Jill’s link above and go see what everyone else’s thoughts are on chores, chores, chores!

Hi Wendy,
Poisonous spiders are enough to keep me out of the garden. Regular spiders and nonpoisonous snakes are okay.
Hi Molly, we have some of the most deadly so I don’t like taking chances.
I’d love to love working in the garden… but apparently I don’t. I have a brown/black thumb and the best way for me to be a gardener is to stick it in the ground and pretend it doesn’t exist!
I’m not keen on ironing either – but most of my clothes don’t require it, so it’s not that big a deal anymore!
I’m the same with anything green, though I want to eventually learn how to do a vegetable patch and herb garden….fingers crossed they work.
I don’t mind ironing but I do try and buy things that don’t need it.
I’ll trade with you. I’ll work in your garden and you can clean my house.
ewwwwwww….I don’t like nasty bugs and snakes
okay…let’s trade! ;)
First Wendy, I love your new hairstyle and color in the post above. What a great cause to support. I wish my hair was as thick as it used to be so I could do something like this. Good luck with this project.
As to the housework, I’m sure that with your having four adults in the house , the joys of cleaning can be spread around! And I’m with you on the gardening. Not because of bugs and snakes but because my garden is no longer very pretty–let all my good plants decline.
Glad you beat the “C” scare!
Thanks Faye, the hair goes though in less than two months, I’ll look more like my husband (who is bald).
It’s hard to get help around here though, that’s my beef!! Sorry to hear your garden isn’t pretty any more.
Ok lets move in together. You can clean the house and I will do the garden! Okay?
Sounds perfect, I’ll give you a yell when my energy levels rise.
Love your new hair color Wendy! It looks awesome on you! What a relief that you do not have lung cancer.
I am with you on household chores. I robotically complete them because they need to be done and I like a clean, tidy house! Happy Fun Monday to you!
Thank you :)
I’m with you, if I don’t do it, it rarely gets done!
Wendy…I wish you good health in the near future…you have been dealing with a lot lately. I dont mind cleaning and i love playing in the dirt…to plant and take care of a flower is so rewarding to me. I am hosting FM next monday so drop by on wed…I should have the post up by then.
Thanks Janis, I’d already seen you’ve got next week’s one so I’ll be over to sign up when the time is right :)
In a perfect world, this stuff would all do themselves…
Or I’d have enough money to employ a cleaner! LOL
I like a beautiful garden, but I hate garden work,
!
hahaha I know what you mean.
Ha ha I’m not that keen on gardening and I can even use nasty bugs, spiders and snakes as an excuse!
