This week I asked people to share a list of things they are thankful for as Thanksgiving Day is this Thursday in the U.S.A.
A number of the fun Monday participants aren’t in the US but we can all be thankful for things and it was a great way to join in with them. Don’t forget to visit the other FM participants and see what they’re all thankful for.
Things I am thankful for:
- My sister – my closest friend and confidante
- My husband (most days)
- Having a matching set of parents who are still happily married
- Knowing all four of my grandparents
- Willow – my beautiful fur-baby who entertains me and loves me unconditionally
- My pregnancy – even though the twins didn’t make it, it was still a wonderful gift in the short 23 weeks we had.
- My in-laws – couldn’t ask for better than MIL and FIL
- My ailing health – it’s not good but it could be so much worse, and for that I’m thankful it’s not!
- Last and by no means least – my friends – without them my life would be colourless, boring and cold.
I could actually keep going but I thought I’d keep it to the main things for today LOL. Now make sure you go visit the other’s who are thankful this week. Next week’s host is Sayre and she will have her challenge up on Wednesday 25 Nov.

[...] Wendishness and see who else is thankful this [...]
I think so too (and I’m thankful for that too) LOL
Thanks for hosting Fun Monday. I’ve added a post today as well.
I did manage to get a brief post up today but I haven’t actually signed up.
I am also thankful for many of the things you mentioned. Good topic so I’m sorry not to really do it justice this week.
I added you to the list Chris, thanks for taking the time to get a post up and it really is worthy! Having your daughters live far from you and each other, I bet you were thankful to have them together for Beccy’s 40th.
Add me to the list! I am posting ASAP!
Got it – thanks :)
You have mentioned some of the same things as myself. If you think about it…life is a blessing in its self..Thanks for hosting this week Wendy and happy FM
It certainly is Janis, even with it’s trials and tribulations, I wouldn’t change it really!
If you can count your family as a blessing, then you are truly blessed because those are the people who matter most! Not everyone is so lucky.
Sayre, you’re spot on, and I do feel blessed to have such a great family!
what a wonderful list — You made me smile and want to give you a hug from my heart.
I have a post for Fun Monday that will be going up in a few minutes — and as always somewhat of strange twist on the game.
Thank you Pamela :)
I’ve added you to the list btw.
Thanks for prompting all of us to reflect on the many things–great and small–that we have to be grateful for, Wendy. I’m glad you have strong supportive parents and parents-in-law to stand by you as you deal with your health challenges. So, you’re thankful for your husband–most days? Does he know it’s only “most days”?
You’re right though Faye, we forget about the little things, and sometimes even the bigger things, and I know at times when things seem to go against me, I get frustrated – so this was a good thing for me to suggest for myself.
A Wonderful list. I am happy to see that you added some of those harsh lessons there. I am very proud of you for that. Not that its my right to be proud of you, but I am anyway. And you should be extremely proud of yourself.
And don’t we all get frustrated at times? (sorry could not help reading that last bit) I know I do on a daily basis. (I sometimes think Men and children were put on this planet purely to frustrate us!) Theres another thing I can be thankful for, my ability to distance myself from that feeling. I think if I did not, I would really go nuts! Oh Hang on! I am already nuts! hehe!
I am also easily amused…..
so loving your smilies. I am on my second coffee here, amusing myself with your smilies while two of my girls are having a rather serious discussion on skin care and health. Have a great day!
Thank you Karisma, I know you’re not meaning it in a patronising way :)
It’s important to recognise the good in the bad. I agree with you on the frustrating part, they are here to challenge us LOL
You have a great list of things to be thankful for. I am a little late to sign up for FM, but I certainly have many things to be thankful for, that is for sure.
p.s. I like the Fun Monday hostess gadget at the top of your blog. Great idea!
Thanks for joining in, I’ve added your link so hopefully others will see it too. I thought it was a good idea adding the little gadget up top, helps people know where to go if they’re not sure.
I forgot to sign up on the Mr Linky thingie, but I posted a Fun Monday this week as well: http://velocibadgergirl.blogsp.....p-for.html
Thanks for hosting! :D
Thanks for letting me know, I’ve added your link to the post. Thanks for playing as well :)
Sorry I missed your challenge. It’s been more than a little busy here at The Asylum.
If I had to list just ONE thing I’m thankful for, it would be my health.
Without it, I couldn’t enjoy much else.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
I can imagine it’s been busy, sorry you missed it.
